The Chapel of Rest will host a Christmas Eve Gathering on Sunday evening, December 24, 2023 at 4 o’clock, and everyone is cordially invited.

The program will include lessons and carols by Tana Murray of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Lenoir, interspersed with music by Robert Gucwa, Blu Waters and Matt Davis on violin, guitar, bass and with vocals… known together as “The Holy Knights.”

Of special interest in the program will be a reading of Peter Marshall’s brief sermon to the U.S. Senate in the 1940’s entitled “Let’s Keep Christmas.”

Hot cider will be served during and after the gathering which will last for approximately one hour.

SERVICES AND WEDDINGS

Christmas Eve services are presented at 4:00 in the afternoon.

Weddings are a regular event at the Chapel and concerts are presented each spring and fall in the acoustically perfect sanctuary. Concert sponsorships are available.
